Erin Bassity is WESTAF's director of marketing and communications. She is responsible for directing the sales and marketing effort for WESTAF’s earned-income projects, overseeing WESTAF's communications and publications, and managing the annual cultural policy symposium and related meetings. Bassity is an associate and member of Colorado's state arts advocacy organization, Arts for Colorado, and also serves as the organization's webmaster. She is a commissioner for the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) and served on DOCA's grant review panel for the distribution of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds in 2009. Bassity also represents DOCA as secretary of the Denver County Cultural Council, a branch of the Science and Cultural Facilities District, which reviews and awards funding requests to arts, science, and cultural organizations in Denver County. She holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in communication from the University of Colorado Denver and hails from the land of red dirt and tornadoes.
