The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) announces the launch of the Creative Space Agent Web site. Creative Space Agent, www.creativespaceagent.org, is a free Web portal designed to advertise space- vacant storefronts, performance venues, recreation centers, big-box retailers, etc.-to Denver's creative community. Creative businesses, artists and arts organizations can use the site to search for available performance, rehearsal, studio, business and housing space that meets their unique needs.

Sculpture at the River Market - Little Rock, Arkansas
The 3rd Annual Sculpture at the River Market Show and Sale, held in Little Rock, Arkansas October 16-18, 2009, is open to all fine art artists who are residents of and/or working in the United States. The sculpture should be created primarily as an aesthetic expression, no craft. Work must be produced by the sculptor or under their personal supervision. Work should be made by hand or with appropriate tools and casting techniques. Eligible media categories include metal, ceramics, glass, wood, resin and stone. In deference to local artists, at least 10 sculptors will be selected from Arkansas and the remainder from throughout the United States. Loaned Sculpture Exhibition - Anacoretes, WA
The Anacortes Washington Arts Commission is launching a Loaned Sculpture Exhibition for downtown Anacortes. The commission hopes to accept over a dozen sculptures for an eighteen month outdoor exhibition in downtown Anacortes. Open to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, BC and Alaska artists. Cornerstone Park - Littleton, CO
Proposals are requested from artists interested in creating a site specific public artwork for the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District (SSPRD) Public Art Committee (SSPAC). The SSPRD Public Art Committee is seeking proposals for an art piece to be placed at Cornerstone Park, a 50-acre multi-use recreational park containing a miniature golf course, multi-purpose sports fields, shelters for games and picnics and a skate board ramp. It is heavily used during warm months for sports and large community events such as July 4th fireworks displays. There is a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains to the west. Deadline: June 5, 2009. EDGE Professional Development Residency Program
Artists who reside in Washington State are encouraged to apply to participate in the 2009 EDGE Professional Development Residency Program for Visual Artists. The EDGE Program provides artists with a comprehensive survey of professional practices through a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes instruction by professionals in the field as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions and assignments. The EDGE Program focuses on providing artists with the relevant and necessary entrepreneurial skills to achieve their personal career goals and the opportunity to develop peer support and exchange. The EDGE Program is open to emerging or mid-career visual artists. Applicants must be residents of Washington State but cannot be students enrolled in a graduate- or undergraduate- degree program. Applicants must commit to completing the entire 50-hour program. Artist Trust will offer two cycles of EDGE for visual artists in 2008. Artists can choose to participate in one of the following cycles July 5-12 or August 8-15. Each cycle is a week-long intensive. The $650 fee includes food and lodging at Centrum in Fort Worden State Park. Limited financial assistance is available. Abstracting the Figure
Lakewood Cultural Center is pleased to present its seventh annual sculpture exhibition, Abstracting the Figure. Juror Reven Marie Swanson seeks to assemble work that demonstrates an exploratory representation of the human figure. Judging will be done from digital images and $2,000 in award money will be presented. Exhibit Dates: May 25-August 29, 2009. All entries due Thursday, April 30, 2009. H20: Film on Water
H2O: Film on Water is a visual arts show mounted by Great River Arts Institute, a non-profit entity based in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The exhibition will result from a national juried competition of water-themed art videos. Forty works will be shown simultaneously across four venues. Zona Rosa Arts Festival 2009
The annual Zona Rosa Arts Festival is a juried fine arts festival sponsored by the Platte County Arts Council. The three day festival is free for the public to attend and features the talents of qualifying national and regional artists along with live musical performances at Town Square. The festival takes place in Zona Rosa, a dynamic shopping, dining, and entertainment district located just minutes from downtown Kansas City and Kansas City International Airport. Zona Rosa is a new urban retail development that opened in Northland Kansas City, Missouri in May, 2004. Zona Rosa is a mixed-use development, combining retail, restaurant and entertainment venues, along with office space and residential lofts and luxury apartments. The open-air, pedestrian-friendly center features a town square, children's park and fountains, all designed to make Zona Rosa the premier shopping, dining and gathering spot for the local community. Proceeds from the Festival benefit the Platte County Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the arts in the community thru scholarships, free children’s theatre, summer arts programs and a yearly calendar featuring Platte County Art Council members art and performing events. The James D. Phelan Art Award in Printmaking
The 2009 James D. Phelan Art Award in Printmaking will honor two California-born artists. In addition to a $5,000 cash prize for each of the award winners, Kala Art Institute will sponsor an exhibit in fall 2009 featuring their work. Application for the 2009 Phelan Art Award in Printmaking is open to any California-born artist. Current California residency is not required. Past winners of the James D. University of Florida - Hough Hall
The Art in State Buildings Program at the University of Florida has a public art opportunity for UF 206 Hough Hall. The budget is $94,500 (minus honoraria). The Toledo Federation of Art Societies in conjunction with the Toledo Museum of Art invites area artists to enter the 91st annual Toledo Area Artists exhibition. Original artwork in any media (excluding performance art) created from 2006–2009 and not previously shown in Toledo Area Artists exhibitions will be eligible. Grand Concourse Beyond 100
This international ideas competition solicits bold visions that describe how the Bronx and the Grand Concourse can evolve in coming decades to cope with pressing needs for housing, green space, and transportation. 2009 Taos Art Glass Invitational
The Taos Art Glass Invitational is a juried show taking place in Taos, New Mexico from July 17-August 14, 2009. The show is open to artists working in glass or glass combined with other media from any part of the world. Take Out
The Brevard Art Museum presents Take Out from May 15-July 12, 2009. Using the humble take out container as a jumping off point, artists are invited to create artwork. The exhibition is open to any artist 18 years and older. All submissions must be original in content, concept, and design; All submissions must use the container provided by the Brevard Art Museum. Dimensions are 3 x 2.125 x 3.5 inches. To receive container email info@brevardartmuseum.org to request one. Completed artwork must not exceed the container by 15 inches in any direction. One submssion per artist, partners or group. All artwork must be suitable for all audiences. The Museum adheres to strict collection standards; no work with animal or plant life, electricity (except battery), water (unless self contained), or hazardous materials will be accepted. Indicate title, media, and insurance value and/or price of the work. The Museum's commission is 30%. There are no fees for submission: artists are responsible for all shipping costs. 6x6x2009
Rochester Contemporary Art Center is currently asking for submissions for its 6x6 exhibit, comprised completely of pieces that are 6 inches by 6 inches. Last year over 5,000 people attended an exciting art exhibition of more than 3,500 original artworks. 6x6x2009 is the second and final exhibition of thousands of original artworks, made and donated by celebrities, international and local artists, designers, college students, youths, and you. Each artwork will be 6x6 inches square and signed only on the back, to be exhibited anonymously. All artworks will be available for sale to the public for $20 each, to benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Transit Center - Dublin, CA
The City of Dublin, CA invites California artists or artist teams to submit qualifications for two site-specific public art commissions at the Dublin Transit Center. Artwork sites are two traffic medians or pedestrian islands within a mixed-use development including residences, retail and a BART station. Little Black Book
The Smithtown Township Arts Council is now accepting entries for Little Black Book to be held June 6-July 1, 2009. The Exhibition seeks to show the thought processes involved in art making through the evolution of the work. Submit sketchbooks, photos, models or other examples of preliminary plans, along with final piece of art these plans evolved from. Both the final works and preliminary plans will be exhibited. 58th Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition
Boca Raton Museum of Art presents the 58th Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition. Applicants may enter up to three (3) artworks. (Only one application per artist is permitted.) Florida’s oldest statewide annual juried all media competition showcases the best prominent and emerging Florida artists today. This year the Museum celebrates the 58th anniversary of the All Florida, reinforcing its strong commitment to Florida artists. Memorial Sculture - Stanford University
The students, faculty, and staff of Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) are seeking proposals for an original outdoor art piece as a memorial to three students who passed away last year. The art piece will be placed on Stanford University's campus in Schwab Residential Center, a residential complex for GSB students. On October 10, 2008, three students at Stanford Graduate School of Business passed away in a car accident in Big Sur, California. These students were Viet Nguyen, Micah Springer, and Christopher Sahm. Viet and Micah were in their first year in the MBA program and Chris was in his second. During their time at school, each of these remarkable men made a lasting impression on the school and those who knew them. The MBA classes of 2009 and 2010 as well as GSB faculty and staff would like to remember and celebrate the lives of these men through the creation of a memorial to be placed on campus. GSB would like to commission a memorial that remembers, honors, and celebrates the lives of Viet, Chris, and Micah. This memorial should speak to past, current, and future students at the GSB. GSB would like to create a space that encourages both reflection of what the GSB community has lost and inspiration based on how these three men lived. Deadline: April, 24, 2009. Appleton Mill Art Yard - Lowell, MA
Public art and landscape design project Call for entries/RFQ. Eligibility: This project is open to all artists/landscape architects/designers/teams residing in New England. Designers and particularly teams with experience in the areas of landscape design, public art, community involvement processes, schoolyard or playground design are encouraged to apply. The Revolving Museum and Fieldstone Property Group invite artists/landscape architects/designers/teams to forward qualifications for the Appleton Mill Art Yard project in Lowell, Massachussetts. The Urban Arts Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (UrbanArts) is administering this dual artist selection process that will result in the selection of an integrated artist/landscape architect/design team that will redesign the courtyard of a historic mill complex.
