Percent for Art Competition - Philadelphia, PA
InLiquid with CRL2 Associates LLC and Interface Studio Architects announce a competition to commission artwork for an exterior site at The Flats at Girard Pointe, located at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Third Street in Old Kensington. Girard Pointe is an eco-friendly project of five townhouses and four condos, begun in early 2008 on an 8,000-square-foot lot bought from the city Redevelopment Authority. The site is nestled between Northern Liberties and Old City to the South, Fishtown to the direct Northeast and the Delaware River Waterfront just a few blocks away to the east. Sculpture Competition - Champaign, IL
The Public Art League (PAL) and City of Champaign in Illinois, are seeking artists to participate in the First Annual Sculpture Competition. Sculpture entries will be judged, selected and then need to be delivered to the unveiling ceremony on August 20, 2010. They will be displayed at the Champaign Park District's Downtown Festival of the Arts August 21, then be available for a two year installation, during which time PAL and the City of Champaign will attempt to arrange purchases for the art as part of a permanent public/private collection in the community. City Entryway Roundabout - Anacortes, WA
The City of Anacortes recently installed a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 20 and Commercial Avenue. The roundabout is landscaped and acts as an entryway to the City. The Anacortes Arts Commission is accepting artist's proposals for an existing sculpture or sculptural components that will, among other things, welcome people to Anacortes. This project calls for an installation that is some or all of the following: Welcoming. Bold. Creative. Durable. Low maintenance. Imaginative. Reflects Anacortes. Open to experienced artists age 18+ residing in WA, OR, ID, MT or BC. Deadline: July 23, 2010. Budget: $30,000-$70,000 depending on success of fundraising. Artist Residencies at Zion National Park
The Zion National Park Artist-in-Residence program offers professional artists the opportunity to live and work in the majestic desert environment of southern Utah for a period of one month. This call for artists applies to three sessions: October 15-November 12, 2010, February 4-March 4, or April 1-29, 2010. The works completed under this program will contribute to the public understanding and appreciation of Zion National Park and should reflect the National Park Service's mission to the preserve and protect the Park's cultural and natural resources. During the residency period the artist will be expected to present two public programs, tailored to an individualā s medium, interest, and experience. One will take place at Zion Nation Park and the other at Southern Utah University as part of the Art Insights program. See the application materials for more information. At the conclusion of the residency, participating artists will donate an original piece from their residency in Zion National Park to be placed in the Park's permanent collection. Zion National Park will work in conjunction with faculty and staff at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah to select artists who will work in Zion for a four-week period in October/November 2010, February/March 2011, and April 2011. Selected artists will be given a rent-free, furnished park house along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, in the heart of Zion Canyon. Hemispheres
This show highlights the differences between right brain (random, intuitive, holistic, subjective) and left brain (logical, sequential, rational, analytical, objective) artwork. Any work that relates to these themes will be considered for exhibition, regardless of medium. With your submission, please include your brief resume, artist statement, cover letter, and artwork detail list (including title, medium, dimensions, and artist's compensation expected for of each piece submitted) with up to 20 images for a small curation fee of $35. The Town of Jackson, Wyoming announces a call to artists for the Home Ranch Building. Artists living in Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado and Idaho are eligible to apply. 2010 TACA Biennial: The Best of Tennessee Craft
The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) seeks entries for its biennial exhibition, The Best of Tennessee Craft, to encourage and promote a high standard of excellence and design among Tennessee craft artists and to provide public visibility and recognition for the quality and diversity of crafts found in Tennessee. The exhibition is open to original works in any of the generally accepted craft media, including clay, fiber, glass, wood, metals, leather, handmade paper, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. The 2010 biennial exhibition will be hosted in the Todd Art Gallery on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Dates for the exhibition are September 27 through October 15, 2010. A public reception will be held the evening of Saturday, October 2. Deadline: August 16, 2010.
