GO™ Project Manager

WESTAF (Western States Arts Federation) is a regional nonprofit arts service organization whose mission is to strengthen the financial, organizational, and policy infrastructure of the arts. WESTAF is also an experienced developer of technology systems that benefit the arts and creative industries. The GO™ (Grants Online) system is one of seven arts-related sites the organization operates nationwide. The GO system is a web-based grant management system that provides management tools for organizations to facilitate their grant management process. Position Summary

The GO project manager works closely with the GO business manager, GO technology team, and WESTAF director of technical operations to service more than 60 clients. In addition to servicing the existing client base, the GO project manager is responsible for managing the GO team to onboard new grants management system clients. The project manager is expected to help orchestrate the completion of all projects by working in close collaboration with the members of the GO technology team. The GO Project Manager is also responsible for assisting in the management of off-site developers for system development, bug fixes, quality assurance, and testing. Task accomplishment requires both the delegation of tasks to team members and the accomplishment of tasks unaided by others.

Core Duties

  • Management of daily tasks and build requirements for the GO technology team
  • Communicates and coordinates with the GO business manager regarding delegation and assignment of tasks to team members
  • Manages the system’s bug fix process and documentation, including prioritization and reprioritization of fixes to best meet the needs of clients across the system
  • Assists in the management of the system enhancement process
  • Provides unsolicited feedback regarding project issues, solutions, improvements, and enhancements
  • Works closely with the director of technical operations and the associate director for technology to manage the GO system developers
  • Ensures that clients receive a very high level of customer service, support, and complaint resolution
  • Advises the GO business manager and senior management regarding: a) general project developments; b) current project needs; c) trends in costs; d) unexpected expenditures; e) persistent client issues/concerns; f) solutions to system inefficiencies; and g) ways to implement cost efficiencies
  • Maintains a constantly expanding knowledge of client needs and the abilities of the GO system to respond to the evolving needs of clients


  • General Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 + years working on a team
  • 2+ years client relations experience
  • Previous experience in managing a technology team is preferred
  • Experience with project management is preferred
  • Project Management certification is preferred


  • Technology-Related Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technology experience
  • The more technology experience an applicant has, the more rapid their familiarization with the system will be. However, this position is one that is a blend of technology, project management, and team management. Thus, expertise and aptitude in technology while important, will not be the overriding factor in the selection of the final candidate.

  • Salary range: $43,000 - $45,000
